When removed it reveals dowels that keeps the top in place when returned (from being cleaned presumably). The single pull-out drawer is also revealed. The front of that drawer shows the logo of the maker and reads Le Gourmand as a stylized logo. Above the drawer is a pull out cutting board which provides an excellent chopping and cutting surface without potentially wearing the butcher block The unit stands on 4 straight perpendicular square shaped maple legs finished with a protective satin transparent varnish. The top and the cutting board have a butcher block oil rub finish. See less
