When I was growing up in the 70s my dad was a college professor on the Navajo Reservation in Tsailee , Az. I spent many summers there and I remember going to a healing ceremony on the Hopi Reservation. They made the most beautiful sand painting on the floor of the building, maybe in the kiva. I was maybe 9. I never forgot it and I have a kachina sand painting from back then ! When I saw this piece , I know it was Hopi . And I love it but because of circumstances that are out of my control , I need to let this go .
