A 1961 abstract ink painting by the American artist Walter Stomps (1929-2020). This abstract work depicts an array of round shapes surrounded by other bold brushwork. Signed and dated to the lower edge, the painting is displayed in a gold tone frame and a white mat.
Walter Stomps, Jr. was a modernist artist who explored the connectivity through music and art in his work. He rejected the rigid nature of realism, instead using color, shape, and rhythmic brushstrokes to create abstraction.
