A 1961 ink and watercolor painting by the American artist Harry Hilson (1935-2004). This abstract work depicts an array of stacked orange and black shapes in a puzzle-like arrangement. Signed and dated to the lower edge, the painting is displayed in a silver tone metal frame and a white mat.
Harry Hilson was active from the 1950s-1990s. He created a variety of works, including oil paintings, ink drawings, wool tapestries, wax paintings, video art, sculpture, and more. His studios could be found in New York, California, Texas, Georgia, and Florida. Hilson and his wife, Jane, also ran a framing company called Fine Art Inc.
