Carved in Italy in the late 19th century, the cameo displays refined sculptural depth and exceptional attention to detail — from the softly modeled drapery to the delicately undercut curls and the crescent moon, emblematic of the lunar goddess. The composition possesses a quiet nobility and balance characteristic of the finest classical revival pieces.

The cameo is set in a finely crafted 14-karat white gold mounting, adorned with eight natural old-cut diamonds. The mounting, created slightly later, circa 1910–1920, reflects a graceful transition from the fluidity of the Edwardian period into the early geometry of Art Deco design.

Measuring 60 x 45 mm and weighing 17 grams, the piece has an impressive scale and presence. It may be worn as both a brooch and a pendant, offering versatility while retaining its antique integrity.
