Little Relics No. 23 is an original mixed media assemblage created by Memphis artist Dorothy Art in 2026 as part of her ongoing Little Relics collection. As the owner and curator of Heirloom House, a vintage shop and art gallery in Memphis, Tennessee, Dorothy draws daily inspiration from the craftsmanship, history, and quiet beauty of antique objects. Each piece in the Little Relics series transforms a genuine vintage treasure into a one of a kind work of contemporary art.
Created on an authentic vintage porcelain imari teacup saucer measuring approximately 5 inches in diameter, this assemblage features a finely detailed reproduction floral cameo surrounded by shimmering vintage German glitter. The saucer’s hand painted floral motifs and vibrant coral border provide a colorful backdrop that celebrates both the elegance of the past and the joy of collecting.
Inspired by Victorian keepsakes, antique china, and the stories carried through heirlooms, the Little Relics collection invites viewers to see forgotten objects in a new light. Every composition is created entirely by hand, making each artwork completely unique. No two pieces are ever alike.
