The design is defined by the contrast between the smooth ivory body and the glossy brown biomorphic lid. with its soft organic forms and bold visual presence, the piece reflects the experimental approach that characterised much of Italian decorative design during the Space Age era.

More than a simple storage container, the box functions as a sculptural object in its own right. The flowing silhouette and contrasting finishes create a strong architectural presence, making it equally suitable for display on a coffee table, sideboard or shelving unit.

Ceramfata was known for producing distinctive ceramic decorative objects during the 1960s and 1970s, often combining functional forms with the futuristic and expressive aesthetics of the period. This example is particularly notable for its original Elcarlos attribution and its striking biomorphic design.

Good vintage condition. Signs of age and use consistent with time. Small chips and more visible wear are present on the interior areas of both the lid and container, mainly where the two elements come into contact and largely concealed when the box is closed.
