The frame, which dates to circa 1890 (it was originally supporting a large canvas painting), has naturalistic foliate and floral motifs arranged in a symmetrical composition; frames in the style of later periods would have asymmetrical carvings and arrangement. A 22 1/2 x 33-inch glass has been added more recently, and the mirror can be used in a horizontal or vertical application, as it is currently not rigged for hanging. See less
