A very beautiful and exceptional Hepplewhite secretary bookcase from Massachusetts, probably Boston, from the Federal period, in mahogany with fine … Read more A very beautiful and exceptional Hepplewhite secretary bookcase from Massachusetts, probably Boston, from the Federal period, in mahogany with fine line inlays. The upper section has a stepped crest topped with urn finials and glazed doors with Gothic arches opening to adjustable glass shelves. Middle section has tambour doors flanking a central enclosed cubby that slide to reveal small interior drawers. Secretary style writing desk folds out with green cloth surface. Three storage drawers with original brass plates and pulls, and resting on tapered square legs forms the bottom section, circa 1800. See less
