The item is a Tibetan/Chinese Buddhist tripod incense burner (censer) crafted from cast bronze. These decorative, ritual vessels are traditionally used in meditation, home altars, and temple settings to burn cone or loose resin incense. The lid is topped with a sculptural finial depicting a seated Buddha in a meditative posture. The upper rim of the main basin is inscribed with Tibetan Buddhist script and the body is cast with an architectural motif resembling traditional mountain fortresses or a depiction of the Potala Palace in Lhasa with marks on the bottom. The openwork lattice patterns on the cover allow the fragrant incense smoke to gently escape and disperse. Overall this item is in very good vintage conditions with normal age wears.
