The poles vary in diameter and are cut at different heights, creating an irregular, sea-urchin-like silhouette beneath the glass. The circular glass top rests directly on the bamboo cluster, letting the full base read as the visual centerpiece of the piece.

This style of stacked or bundled bamboo furniture emerged from organic modern and coastal design movements, where natural, unmilled materials were left in raw form and clustered for sculptural effect rather than turned or veneered. The irregular arrangement here is handmade rather than manufactured to a repeating pattern, giving the base a one-of-a-kind silhouette.
