Antique English Ironstone Jelly Mould
Jelly moulds were the unsung heroes of the Victorian kitchen, and this ironstone example is a beauty worth knowing. The fluted, scalloped interior was designed to turn out elegant ribbed desserts, blancmange and jellies that signaled a well-run household.
Attributed to either Grimwade or Shelley, it dates to around 1900, a period when British potteries were producing kitchenware that balanced everyday durability with quiet refinement. Ironstone was the material of choice for good reason, tough enough for daily use and handsome enough to earn its place on the shelf.
