Offered here is one piece from a long-preserved American quarter-sawn tiger oak bedroom suite dating to approximately 1905–1915. Carefully maintained within the same family for roughly fifty years, the original suite includes a bed, two mirrored dressers, a five-drawer tall chest, and a wardrobe that has been converted to practical interior shelving while preserving its antique exterior. Each piece is available individually, subject to prior sale.
This handsome antique five-drawer tall chest is crafted from solid quarter-sawn white oak and dates to approximately 1905–1915. Featuring striking tiger oak grain throughout, five graduated drawers, original wooden knobs, original key escutcheons, and gently flared sides, it represents the durable craftsmanship and understated elegance of early twentieth-century American furniture.
The chest retains its warm golden oak finish, showcasing dramatic medullary ray figure across the drawer fronts and top. Hand-cut dovetail drawer construction and solid wood craftsmanship reflect the quality expected from American furniture makers of the period.
This piece has remained within the same family for roughly fifty years as part of a long-preserved matching bedroom suite, helping preserve its character and continuity over time.
Condition is very good antique condition with expected wear from more than a century of use, including light finish wear, minor scratches and dings, a small age-related crack beneath the top molding, and normal shrinkage consistent with age. Drawers operate well, and the original wooden knobs and escutcheons remain in place. Key not included.
