Much of that legacy traces to Dorothy Draper, the influential mid-century decorator who made Ficks Reed a signature element of her bold, maximalist interiors.

These circa 1970s frames show the brand's hallmark construction: sturdy bamboo joinery, clean architectural lines, and that low, relaxed seat profile that makes them so livable. Both frames are structurally solid with no wobble.
