Published in 1942, this first edition historical novel by Marguerite Allis is based on the lives of the Seven Hart Sisters of Saybrook, Connecticut. Bound in its original decorative cloth boards, it includes a newspaper clipping about the historic Samuel Hart House and shows light age-related wear with no dust jacket.

Fading of the front and back cover, there is wear along the edges of the spine and the edges of the book. There once was something glued to the inside front cover that is no longer there, there is a newspaper clipping of the Samuel Hart house in Saybrook that has been permanently fixed to an inside page, and caused some staining around that, there is staining on the pages.
