A moody mid century cityscape painting in a a great original wood frame.We love the frame as much as we love the painting.

A river runs through a city.
The place appears to be a city in Europe. Perhaps France. Though the back of the frame indicates it was framed in NY, we believe the painting was composed in Europe and brought back to the States.

The church spire, the bridge over the river, the architecture alongside the river's edge.
There is light impasto paint technique.

Signed on the bottom right corner. The date is 1958.
An old tattered newsprint is still partially intact on the back side.
