This Jens Risom 72” executive desk is in beautiful condition and has a unique, custom-made center drawer commissioned by the first owner (done locally, but to a Risom standard.) You can tell it was not an in-house modification due to the white melamine bottom and the tenons in the corner joints, whereas the other drawers all have veneered bottoms and don’t have tenons reinforcing the miters. It also has a walnut utensil tray that isn’t fixed, so it can slide front to back within the drawer.
The original finish has been cleaned and rejuvenated with a fresh coat of Danish oil, and the top has been redone to match the original, also using several coats of Danish oil as a finish. All drawers operate smoothly. The left top drawer has the original glass-topped writing tray that slides from front to back over two sections. The Risom manufacturer tag is present. All drawers interiors have been cleaned. The black plastic pulls have all been cleaned and polished.

- While the desk is in fantastic condition over all, and very structurally solid, there have been some repairs and there … moreWhile the desk is in fantastic condition over all, and very structurally solid, there have been some repairs and there are minor imperfections. The lower left pedestal had cracked along the bottom joint, and had been repaired originally with six drywall screws to keep it together. These screws were removed, the joint was properly glued and clamped, and the holes were filled and faux finished to blend with the existing color and grain. These are only noticeable upon close inspection. There is a small missing chip of veneer on the very lower right corner of the file drawer on that side, less than 1/4”. There is a small ding on one of the corners of the desktop. There are a couple of swirl marks from the random orbital sander on the back left of the desktop if one looks closely. There is a dime-sized mark on the back of the modesty panel right in the middle. There are a couple of small indentations on the lower edge of the back side of the top. less
