This teapot was custom-ordered and used at the legendary Pig 'N Whistle restaurant and confectionery located inside the historic White House Department Store in downtown San Francisco during the Great Depression. Historical Markings On Base:Engraved: "Property of Pig 'N Whistle San Francisco"Catalog Number: 014613 (The leading "0" indicates Gorham's silver-soldered line) Volume: 8 oz.Date Code Pictogram: An Elephant (Gorham's official factory stamp for the year 1930) Condition: Very good vintage condition with minor surface scratches and beautiful patina appropriate for its age and commercial restaurant use. The hinge on the lid functions perfectly, and all engravings/stamps on the bottom are incredibly crisp and fully legible. No major structural dents.
