This piece immediately stands out as an … Read more An exceptional antique bridal chest dating from 1794, originating from Franconia, southern Germany. This piece immediately stands out as an extremely exclusive and characterful piece of furniture, partly due to its highly decorative green-blue paintwork. The softly weathered paintwork features beautiful cloud-patterned panels and is richly adorned with flowers and tulips. The chest has been professionally restored in the past, during which all decorative moldings were skillfully replaced with respect for the original design. Inside, the cabinet has recently been fitted with new, sturdy shelves and a new lock for optimal ease of use. Old, sporadic woodworm damage has, of course, been thoroughly inspected, checked, and treated preventively. 188 cm high, 132 cm wide, 53 cm deep. See less
