Made of beautiful wide camphor boards with dramatic grain and aromatic interior. Comes with the original brass bound decoration and original recessed brass campaign handles. The interior is clean and unfinished. The wheels are not original and were a later addition.
Excellent decorartive appeal in both traditional and modern interiors. Original purpose was for the British military, however, in modern day living this trunk would make a great accent at the foot of a bed, underneath artwork or use as a coffee table.

Later casters have been added to the base (practical modification but not original to the piece). The piece is structurally sound, lid opens and closes as it should. Lovely time worn honey patina and patina to original brass components. The interior is unfinished and clean. Several age cracks/shrinkage splits in the lid (see photos) particularly near the corners (all are stable and typical for solid camphor). There are no keys and the locks do not work. I am happy to answer any questions you may have prior to purchase or to send more photos if needed. less
