The cast iron jack is from the mid 20th centry. 1930's-ish. The railroad jack is all original. I do not know when the cherry top was added. I do know however the top was refinished 3 years ago. This piece is heavey. The screwing mechanism is very smooth to raise and lower the height. The lowest at 14 inches and the highest at 18 inches. The wooden handle comes off, if you wish, the wooden balls are pressure fitted. See less
