A thick rectangular glass top, with subtly rounded edges, rests just above a mirrored pedestal base, its proportions measured and grounded. The pedestal is clad in bronze-toned mirrored panels, softly reflective with a subtle haze that bends light and shadow.

Both architectural and expressive, the table works comfortably as a dining surface or as a sculptural anchor within a room—an assured example of Gavina’s experimental material language and the confidence of Italian design in the 1970s.

Founded by Dino Gavina (1922–2007) in Bologna, Gavina began furniture production in 1949 and was formally established in 1960. The company championed an artistic, contemporary approach that moved beyond strict Rationalism, commissioning influential designs by Achille Castiglioni and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, Marco Zanuso, and Afra and Tobia Scarpa, while also reissuing Bauhaus furniture by Marcel Breuer.

Highly connected within the Italian design scene, Gavina also co-founded Flos with Cesare Cassina before selling the company to Knoll International in 1968.

Condition: Great vintage condition. The glass top has no notable cracks or scratches. The square at the center of the top is back-painted mirror glass, with only one small area of finish loss. Minor surface wear along the top and bottom edges of the base, consistent with age and use. See less
