Crafted by the esteemed Milanese metal atelier Santambrogio e De Berti—known for their collaborations with Gio Ponti—this 1960s mirror reflects the language of Italian modernism. Sculptural copper-clad panels flank the top and base, raised slightly off the surface and embossed with abstract reliefs—a study in proportion and materiality.
Celebrated for their precision metalwork and bespoke commissions, Santambrogio e De Berti was founded in Milan in the early 1900s. The firm rose to prominence between the 1930s and 1970s, becoming a trusted fabricator for Italy’s leading modernist architects. Their work spanned custom furnishings, staircases, and decorative elements, always marked by structural clarity and refined craftsmanship.
This mirror is a quietly powerful example of their legacy—functional and architectural.
Condition: Great vintage condition with minor foxing along the edges of the mirror glass, consistent with age. Natural patina to the copper with minor edge wear and visible oxidation. Hanging hardware present along the backside. Retains original maker's mark.
