A beautifully sculpted vintage Rosenthal porcelain German Shepherd figurine, handcrafted and hand painted in Germany. This exceptional mid-century piece features the highly realistic modeling and rich hand-painted detail that made Rosenthal one of Germany’s most respected porcelain manufacturers.
The underside bears the green Rosenthal Germany Handgemalt mark, dating the figurine to the late 1950s, with an impressed date believed to read 1957. An additional impressed artist’s mark is visible above the factory stamp, indicating the sculptor responsible for the original model.
The expressive face, alert ears, finely shaded black-and-tan coat, and natural seated pose make this an outstanding display piece for collectors of Rosenthal porcelain, dog figurines, or German decorative arts.
