Make a grand architectural statement with this spectacular, matching pair of monumental 48-inch Mid-Century Modern ceramic table lamps. Exhibiting a striking, elongated bottle silhouette, each lamp showcases two masterfully executed textures. The tall, tapering neck features a deeply incised geometric diamond pattern, while the bulbous base features a dramatic openwork reticulated cutout leaf motif.
A particular highlight of this pair is their exceptional deep dark teal, glossy glaze. This complex glaze shifts dramatically in the lighting; appearing as a rich, reflective obsidian black in passive light, but revealing complex jewel tones of dark greenish-blue and teal when directly illuminated. Interior designers often classify this sophisticated, dimensional glaze as "beetle-shell" or "high-gloss cobalt black."
Unlike typical lamps, these feature a completely solid, unlit base, allowing the magnificent dimensional patterns to be appreciated as pure sculpture.
Outfitted with their original brass sockets, turn-knob switches,and heavy-duty 14.5-inch brass harps, this pair represents an exceptional example of substantial, designer-tier 1960s American ceramic lighting art.
The underside of each ceramic base retains its original incised factory/maker mold mark: "WII 5928".
This vintage pair features pristine single-family provenance, inherited directly from the original owners. They have been lovingly cared for together in a single private residence, preserving their exceptional glaze symmetry and structural integrity.

Good Vintage Condition. Both ceramic bodies are remarkably well-preserved. There are no chips, cracks, structural repairs, or hairline fractures to either the geometric necks or the delicate reticulated openwork cutouts. The complex glossy glaze remains exceptionally bright, uniform, and mirror-like across both lamps. The original brass sockets and hardware show a beautiful, even, age-appropriate patina. Cords and turn-knobs remain intact and fully functional on both units. (Lamp shades are not included).
