English handcrafted wooden jewelry box with Celtic knot carved across the lid stops you the moment you pick it up. There is a quiet confidence to it that feels deliberate and unhurried.
Made around 1980, when decorative woodwork was still taken seriously. The knotwork is clean and assured, carved with the grain rather than against it. Someone knew what they were doing.
