Maker Scheurich Keramik
Model number: 260
This exceptional ceramic vase dates back to the 1960s and is a product of one of the most prominent West German post-war pottery manufacturers, Scheurich Keramik. The vase features the shape model number 260 and is adorned with the iconic and highly collectible decor named "Inka" (or "Inca"). This particular piece still retains its original paper label marked "europ linie", an exclusive series introduced by Scheurich to present more sophisticated, high-design items intended for the international market, making it a highly sought-after collector's item today.
The central theme of the entire piece is a strong inspiration drawn from ancient cultures and the pre-Columbian art of South America. The monumental body of the vase is covered in a sophisticated relief structure composed of geometric square ornaments, rings, and bands that evoke traditional Inca patterns and architecture. The entire surface is finished with an elegant white semi-matte to satin glaze, which allows the three-dimensional decor to stand out beautifully, as the alternating raised areas and recesses create a subtle play of light and shadow without distracting reflections.
In terms of interior design, this vase is an absolute timeless centerpiece that combines rustic plasticity with a modern, minimalist color palette. It is in perfect condition, completely free of any chips, cracks, or glaze damage, which is quite rare for such heavily textured utilitarian ceramics from the 1960s. It is thus ready to immediately elevate your collection or serve as a stylish accent in both modern and retro-inspired homes. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
