Handcrafted studio ceramic lidded box with a harmoniously rounded body and lid.
The surface features an expressive glaze in warm honey, cream, and ochre tones with subtle iron-red accents reminiscent of traditional Shino glazes.
The organically flowing pattern of vertical waves is created by the interplay of the flowing glaze and the firing process.
Fine crackle textures and the vibrant surface pattern lend the box additional depth and a handcrafted, unique character.
The underside bears a small workshop mark. Stylistically, the piece belongs to the European studio ceramics of the 1970s, likely from Germany with Japanese influences.
