This elegant antique mirror from Italy features a distinctively Neoclassical form with finely carved decorative elements. The tapered rectangular glass is enclosed within a molded giltwood frame and surmounted by an unusual oval wreath crest, richly carved with foliate motifs and centered above a three dimensionally carved lambs head. The bottom is anchored with carved acanthus leaves and a decorative finial. The bronze/gold finish retains a warm, aged gilt surface with attractive patina throughout. This early 19th century Italian mirror, with classical symbolism, hand-carved details, and elegant proportions, will make a striking decorative wall accent suitable for both traditional and contemporary interiors.
