Each tile depicts a different character from the traditional Italian Commedia dell’Arte theater, illustrated with stylized costume and expressive gesture. The figures are rendered in black linework with hand-colored accents including blue, yellow, and red, set against a light ground. The characters shown include Brighella, Pantalone, Scaramouche, and Arlecchino, each identified by name within the design.
