A heliogravure on paper titled “Christ Healing the Sick (The Hundred Guilder Print)” (Bartsch 74) after Rembrandt van Rijn’s original etching of circa 1649. The composition presents a powerful biblical scene in which Christ stands at the center, radiating light as he heals the sick and teaches the gathered crowd. Surrounding him is a richly varied assembly of figures—beggars, the infirm, curious onlookers, and skeptics—rendered with remarkable psychological depth and individuality. The luminous figure of Christ emerges from a darkened architectural setting, drawing focus to the spiritual and emotional gravity of the moment. Widely regarded as one of the artist’s greatest prints, “The Hundred Guilder Print” remains a cornerstone of Western art and a benchmark for expressive etching.
