PERIOD 17th century James II 2 piece oak chest of drawers from England.
The case is made from oak, and has a pegged top with a beveled edge, following down to paneled sides. The front of the case is where the magic occurs! There are two drawers over three drawers, all which have been expertly parqueted with mahogany ad then inlay with satinwood. The patterns are definitive of the period, which was primarily geometric in style.
Each drawer is expertly banded in satinwood, adding to the already spectacular design of the parquet.
This is an exceptional chest and we feel very fortunate to be able to offer such a glorious historical piece to our clients.
