This unique antique walnut parlor Settee or loveseat also known as a gossip bench, telephone chair or corner chair, blends striking late Victorian style with functional novelty design. The piece features a rich walnut frame anchored by four finely turned, slender legs resting on small metal casters. Plush emerald green velvet upholstery creates an oversized, wide seat cushion paired with a distinct, off-center tufted backrest positioned on the left side. The left side is further defined by an upholstered armrest ending in an elegant, carved scroll detail. In contrast, the right side remains completely open, showcasing a decorative wooden panel along the back adorned with intricate, Victorian-style ball-and-stick lattice elements.
