A rare and important pair from Paul Frankl's celebrated "Station Wagon" series — one of the most sought-after lines to come out of Johnson Furniture Company of Grand Rapids, Michigan, prized for its confident mix of materials and quietly sculptural forms.

Each nightstand is crafted from a striking combination of mahogany, birch, maple, and brass, and features three drawers fitted with the original hand-stitched leather pulls — a signature Frankl detail that lends warmth and tactility to the otherwise clean, architectural lines of the piece. The leather pulls remain in original condition, with only slight cracking to the outer edges that in no way compromises their integrity or character. Both pieces carry the branded manufacturer's mark "Johnson Furniture Co. Grand Rapids, Mich." along with a distributor's label to the drawer interior reading "Harold H. Schultz."
