A handsome Italian terracotta planter by Antonini, shaped as a broad, shallow bowl raised on a gently molded circular foot. A hand-applied fleur-de-lis gives the otherwise restrained form a quiet heraldic note, while the softly washed rose-colored surface highlights the natural texture and throwing lines of the clay.
Its low, generous proportions are particularly well suited to herbs, cyclamen, ivy, or a compact topiary. Equally appealing indoors or in a sheltered garden room, it would bring warmth to a kitchen windowsill, conservatory table, covered terrace, or collection of traditional European pottery.
