A beautiful, large vintage Scheurich vase featuring the iconic red, orange, and black color combination; a piece of West German "Fat Lava" pottery from the 1970s, numbered 408-40 on the base.
"West Germany" was essentially a collective term for ceramics produced roughly between 1950 and 1990. Well-known names include Roth, Carstens, Ruscha, Jopeko, Jasba, and Fohr, though Scheurich and Bay were arguably the biggest manufacturers.
In perfect vintage condition; there are a few tiny production flaws in the glaze—hardly any of these vases were flawless, given the high-volume manufacturing process—but there are no cracks, breaks, or chips. Please check the photos for details!
