A sublime and authentic glazed ceramic soliflore vase, created by the ceramic artist gabrielle mackiewicz during the 1950s-1960s. Influenced by her training with the renowned master roger capron in vallauris, the artist presents a remarkably modern work, combining technical precision with freedom of form.
an organic, sculptural silhouette, curved in an "s" shape, pierced by a central openwork eye at its base. Its distinctly mid-century aesthetic evokes the spirit of vallauris' golden age.
a superb work of abstract motifs in a geometric mosaic style, with a fine network of black cloisonné. The color palette elegantly blends shades of sage green, white, black, and touches of old rose/mauve, all enhanced by a terracotta/glazed beige background. The artist's monogram is hand-painted beneath the base. A beautiful piece for any collector. Note a small, discreet chip in the glaze on the upper rim (visible in the close-up photos), a testament to its age and history, but in no way detracting from the vase's superb visual presence and structure.
a rare and highly decorative piece, ideal for collectors of 1950s/60s ceramics, enthusiasts of the vallauris movement, or for enhancing a vintage and architecturally designed interior. This piece has an attribution mark,
