Gerard Passet (French, 1936-2013) was a celebrated French painter born in Villeneuve-le-Roi in 1936. A pupil of Marcel Roch and Goerg, he later became chief of Yves Brayer's studio at the Academie de la Grande Chaumiere in Paris. Known for his vibrant Impressionist landscapes, Passet exhibited widely across France and internationally beginning in 1961, gaining critical acclaim and numerous awards. His accolades include the prestigious Taylor Prize (1959), the Youth Grand Prix at the Societe Nationale des Beaux-Arts (1959), and multiple medals from the City of Paris. His work is represented in major institutions including the Musee d'Art Moderne de Paris, the Musee Cantini in Marseille, and the Musee de l'ile-de-France in Sceaux. Passet's paintings are also held in the collections of the French government and the City of Paris. See less
