An exceptional original silver gelatin photograph from acclaimed American photographer Paul Caponigro (1932–2024), one of the most celebrated fine art photographers of the twentieth century.
Photo image measures 13.5 x 19
This signed work, titled “Stonehenge,” depicts one of Caponigro’s iconic studies of the ancient English monument, renowned for its dramatic interplay of light, shadow, and monumental form.
The photograph is hand-signed in pencil beneath the image and retains its original gallery provenance. The reverse bears the label of The Cronin Gallery, Houston, Texas, identifying the work as an “original silver gelatin photograph” titled Stonehenge.
Caponigro’s photographs are held in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, and numerous other major institutions worldwide. His Stonehenge series is among his most recognizable and sought-after bodies of work.
