A vintage Louis Sognot-style lantern table lamp crafted from a bamboo outer frame and an interior textile shade. Sognot was a prominent French modern designer celebrated for blending materials like rattan and bamboo into elegant mid-century forms, which popularized this naturalistic aesthetic across Europe during the 1950s and 1960s This piece is built with a sturdy, dark-stained bamboo cage structure bound together at intersecting points The diffuser features a textured, natural cream or ecru-colored fabric insert that appears to be cotton or hemp material. It beautifully diffuses light into a soft, ambient glow. Unsigned.
Plugs into the wall. Wired for US. One/off rocker on cord. Light bulb included. Appears to have been rewired within the last decade.
