Measuring an impressive 17.5 inches high by 16 inches in diameter, this substantial vintage vase has a beautifully rounded form and an incredible layered surface that feels like a mix of raku firing and volcanic lava glaze.

The finish moves through earthy copper, rust, plum, charcoal and gray tones, with tall silver-gray glazed lines rising from the base. The textured, irregular surface gives it an almost archaeological quality, and it looks different from every angle.

Acquired from a Miami estate, this rare oversized studio pottery vessel has tremendous presence and works beautifully displayed alone on a pedestal, console or large dining table. Bold, sculptural and truly one of a kind.

Condition: Very good vintage condition with natural glaze variations, firing marks, surface texture and irregularities throughout, all part of the handmade studio pottery character. Felt pads added underneath. No obvious major chips or repairs observed unsigned See less
