Seated with hands covering its ears in the traditional “Hear No Evil” pose, this charming ceramic figure is adorned with an elaborate black and gilt vest depicting pagodas, flowering gardens, birds, butterflies, and other classic chinoiserie motifs. The celadon-green body is finely hand-detailed to suggest fur, while the expressive face gives the sculpture warmth and character.
