This is a gorgeous, beautifully preserved Mid-Century to late 20th-century Chinese Rosewood (often referred to as Huanghuali style or fine export rosewood) oval dining set.

The Design Style: This features the classic "Ming Dynasty" silhouette—characterized by the clean, gently curved lines, the rounded "ox-horn" or "crestrail" tops of the chairs, and the elegantly tapered legs that end in subtle spade or horse-hoof feet.

The Carving (The Apron and Splat): The openwork carving running along the table's apron (the border just beneath the glass) features an intricate, fluid vine/floral or cloud motif. The back splats of the chairs are pierced and carved with a complementary medallion motif (often representing longevity or good fortune).
