Add a wonderful piece of Alaskan Native heritage to your table display with this beautiful vintage Robert Mayokok salt and pepper shaker set. Thoughtfully illustrated by renowned Inupiat artist Robert Mayokok (1903-1983), this mid-century set features his iconic, highly detailed monochrome ink drawings depicting traditional Inuit children celebrating a community blanket toss (Nalukataq). The top of each tapered shaker is elegantly detailed with a stylized flower motif. Hand-signed by the artist on the lower edge of the graphics, this fine glazed porcelain set serves as a sophisticated collectible, an elegant kitchen accent, or a prized addition for collectors of mid-century Arctic and Native American folk art.

The black line transfer artwork remains perfectly crisp, bold, and entirely unrubbed. The upper bodies are completely free of any structural cracks, hairline fractures, surface discoloration, or repairs. As shown in the base photos, there are a few tiny, minor fleabite chips/nicks along the outer edge of the unglazed bottom rims from past handling and shelf wear. These are hidden when displayed flat. Both underlying translucent plastic sealing plugs fit tightly and remain flexible. Please see photos for a close-up look. less
