ABOUT
This rare 1980s French postmodern "Aha" table lamp, designed by Olivier Verlet for Demeter, features an ingenious articulated body crafted from a heavy-duty aluminum folding decimal rulers, brass accents and wooden segments that allows for fluid, dramatic geometric adjustments. The sleek, bullet-shaped halogen lamp head draws aesthetic inspiration from vintage bicycle lights, which is perfectly counterbalanced by a solid cylindrical aluminum base. Measuring up to 35 inches when fully extended, this iconic high-tech minimalist piece is in good vintage condition with firm mechanical tension joints and crisp metric markings.
Impressed manufacturer's mark to base "AHA" on both sides. Foil manufacturer's label to base "Demeter Lamp Metre".
CREATOR Olivier Verlet for Demeter. Made in France.
DATE OF MANUFACTURE c.1998-2000.
MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES Brushed Aluminum, Brass, Wood.
CONDITION Good. Minor wear consistent with use and wear. Rewired with on/off switch in 2002.
