Repurposed as a screen, or even a vintage room divider, this teak poster holder dates from the 1940s. A true work of art, it comes from the Théâtre des Célestins in Lyon.
Its teak frame, in perfect condition, supports a canvas onto which the poster for the upcoming performance in the main hall was slid.
Decidedly Art Deco, the canvas's pattern is strikingly graphic. A utilitarian object that also demonstrates the timeless beauty of creations stemming from or inspired by the Art Deco movement.
