Marius Bessone was born in Vallauris in 1929.
By 1954 he and his wife, Huguette, opened their own studio in Vallauris. Huguette took the roll of decorator of his ceramic pieces.
Bessone ceramics are totally unique, with volcanic glazes beneath abstract designs. The pieces themselves are very different in shape and design to any other works. Vallauris company also made Pablo Picasso's ceramics. This piece is a typical example of Bessone ceramics. This piece has an attribution mark,
