M. Evelyn McCormick (1862-1948) was a pioneering American Impressionist painter celebrated for her vivid landscapes and depictions of California's Monterey Peninsula. Trained at the San Francisco School of Design and later in Paris, McCormick was one of the first American women to paint in Monet's Giverny. Her works were exhibited widely, including at the Panama-Pacific International Exposition (1915), the Paris Salon, and the World's Columbian Exposition (1893).
