Original hand-colored French fashion plate from La Mode Illustrée, published in Paris in 1869 (No. 3). This elegant engraving depicts three women wearing fashionable Second Empire-era gowns, highlighting the elaborate silhouettes, lace details, and luxurious textiles of the period.
Published by La Mode Illustrée, one of France’s premier fashion journals, the print retains its original hand coloring and bears the publication information “Bureaux du Journal, 56 rue Jacob, Paris,” along with the printer’s credit “Gilquin fils imp. Paris.” The lower margin is dated 1869, No. 3.
Presented framed and ready to hang, this piece makes a beautiful addition to a traditional, French, or Victorian-inspired interior.
