A striking molded, pressed, and frosted glass art vase produced by the historic Parisian workshop, Établissements Leune, circa 1920s. This exceptional vessel features a prominent, bulbous oval silhouette that flares elegantly at the collar, serving as an exemplary illustration of French Art Deco glass craftsmanship. The body of the vase is intricately decorated with a rich relief pattern combining stylized geometric stippling, feather-like droplets, and scrolling foliage. The complex interplay between the ultra-smooth transparent areas and the deeply textured, satin-frosted surfaces creates a soft, luminous glow when exposed to natural light.
The authenticity of this antique is anchored by the raised, vertical geometric "LEUNE" maker's stamp integrated seamlessly into the frosted design work along the outer body. Famously managed in the early 1920s by Paul Daum (of the legendary Daum Frères company), Maison Leune relied on high-quality blank glass bodies that were subsequently acid-etched, molded, or enameled by highly celebrated master artists like Auguste Heiligenstein. While frequently mistaken for Lalique or Daum due to their shared period aesthetics, authentic, signed Leune molded works are rare, distinctly collectible treasures.
